In the third match of the WT20 between United States of America and India it was the USA who won the toss and opted to chase. Once USA captain announced that on the mike the crowd erupted as they would be getting to watch India bat first. India made a forced change with Jasprit Bumrah ruled out and replacing him was Mohammad Siraj. While Ishan Kishan opened the batting with Abhishek Sharma and Sanju Samson has been dropped from the team. Saurabh Netravalkar had a tidy start keeping Kishan quiet for the first four balls but it did not last long as Ishan Kishan smashed a six as the crowd found their voice.

But Number 1 batter in the world Abhishek Sharma could not get going as he was dismissed for a golden duck. It was the second over and Ali Khan bowled a good length delivery outside off and kept a deep cover in play and Abhishek Sharma fell into the trap and hit it straight to the fielder where Sanjay Krishnamurthi took a simple catch. Leading up to this tournament Abhishek Sharma was the most talked about batter and without a doubt as he has been the best player in this format over the last few years. He has literally set the powerplay on fire whenever he has got going. But playing his first ever WT20 game, Abhishek Sharma had a disappointing outing as he was dismissed cheaply for a golden duck. USA pacer Ali Khan was brilliant in his first over giving away only two runs and picking up the big wicket of Abhishek.

India are placed in Group A with USA, Namibia, Netherlands and Pakistan. They are the defending champions and under the leadership of Suryakumar Yadav they will be looking to go all the way this time around.
