On this day, February 22, 2019: Shimron Hetmyer smashed a century while Cottrell picked up five wickets as West Indies brush away England in ODI. West Indies were batting first and Campbell along with Chris Gayle shared a fifty-run partnership. Chris Gayle completed a terrific half century but West Indies lost three wickets and were reduced to 121/3. It was Shimron Hetmyer who came in and stole the show.

The left hander smashed an unbeaten 104 runs of just 83 balls at a strike rate of 125 as he propelled West Indies to a total of 289/6 at the end of the first innings. Hetmyer smashed seven fours and 4 sixes on his way to a terrific century and single handedly gave West Indies an above par total on that surface.

England bowlers struggled a lot and Mark Wood was the pick of the bowlers picking up one wicket while giving away 38 runs. Chasing a target of 290, England were rocked early by left arm pacer Sheldon Cottrell. West Indies picked up two wickets within 10 runs as England were in all sorts of trouble. Joe Root scored 36 while Eoin Morgan and Ben Stokes smashed half centuries to  bring England back in the game.

Sheldon Cottrell once again provided the wicket as he dismissed Eoin Morgan for 70. Ben Stokes also soon fell for 79 as Jason Holder picked up his wicket. England were 228/5 when Ben Stokes fell and needed just 62 runs of the last ten overs with five wickets in hand. Once Stokes was dismissed, they collapsed completely and were bowled out for 263 and West Indies won the game by 26 runs.

Cottrell was the star for West Indies as he picked up five wickets while Jason Holder picked up three wickets. It was a spirited effort by the West Indies to win that game. Shimron Hetmyer won the player of the match for his unbeaten 104 of just 83 balls and also taking two crucial catches. It was a highly competitive game and, in the end, West Indies held their nerve to secure the win.
