On this day, May 18, 2025: Shubman Gill and Sai Sudharsan shatter records as GT beat DC by 10 wickets. It was the 60th match of the Indian Premier League 2026 played between Gujarat Titans and Delhi Capitals at the Arun Jaitley Stadium. Delhi Capitals were batting first and lost the wicket of Faf Du Plessis early. KL Rahul and Abhishek Porel consolidated and stitched up an excellent partnership. Porel was the next to be dismissed for 30 runs as Delhi Capitals were 106/2 and the game was in the balance.
KL Rahul continued playing his shots as he went past a half century and along with Axar Patel they took Delhi Capitals past the 150 mark at the end of 16 overs. KL Rahul accelerated in the death overs and completed his century. He finished with an unbeaten 112 runs from just 65 balls and Tristan Stubbs played a brilliant cameo of 22 as Delhi Capitals posted a total of 199/3 at the end of the first innings. It was an excellent effort on a good batting surface.
Gujarat Titans struggled to pick up wickets with the ball and had a steep task of chasing 200 at the halfway mark. The game was in the balance and they needed a very big effort. Chasing the target, Shubman Gill and Sai Sudharsan put on a masterclass as they dominated the powerplay without losing a wicket.
Sai Sudharsan continued his brilliance as he smashed a century while Shubman Gill also went all guns blazing as the openers put up a stunning 200 run partnership to help Gujarat Titans win the game by 10 wickets. Sai Sudarsan ended up with an unbeaten 108 runs from 61 balls while Shubman Gill was unbeaten on 93. It was a terrific effort and they broke all the records as they stitched up a massive partnership and won the game.
