Rajasthan Royals won the inaugural edition of the Indian Premier League in 2008 but ever since then they have not been able to lift the trophy. They have been consistent in the last few seasons but it was last year where things fell apart as they ended in the bottom half of the table. They have made some big moves in the off season and brought some good players in the IPL auction which has given their squad the much-needed balance. As the upcoming season of IPL is set to get underway let us look at the change in dynamics of the RR side.

Sanju Samson Traded out for Sam Curran & Jadeja

Rajasthan Royals made a huge move as Sanju Samson who wanted to leave the franchise was traded with Sam Curran and Ravindra Jadeja. Rajasthan have been lacking quality spin in the middle overs since Chahal and Ashwin left. This now gives them a very strong edge with Ravindra Jadeja sorting out the spin overs and also lower order batting for the RR side. Sam Curran has been in good form but has been injured and ruled out of the upcoming season.

Ravi Bishnoi & Vignesh Puttur

RR brought Ravi Bishnoi in the auction for more than 7 crores. They have focused on getting Indian spinners and have brought one of the best leg-spinners in Ravi Bishnoi. He will get support from Jadeja and Vignesh Puttur is a backup option which they brought for base price. Vignesh impressed with the Mumbai Indians side a season back.

Sushant Mishra & Adam Milne

The left arm pacer Sushant Mishra created headlines doing very well in the recent domestic competition. He provides the RR team with an option of left arm and can also swing the new ball. Another smart buy in the auction from RR was Adam Milne. The Kiwi fast bowler can be a like back up for Jofra Archer as he bowls at a high pace. There is also an option of playing both these pacers together which makes the Rajasthan Royals side much more dangerous. Rajasthan Royals have also brought in good local uncapped players like Kuldeep Sen, Aman Rao and Yash Raj Punja for the upcoming season.
