Sheffield Shield 2025/26 started on October 7 2025 and there will be six teams. Tasmania, New South Wales, Queensland, Western Australia, South Australia and Victoria who will fight it out for the title. There will be 30 matches in this edition and the top two teams from the group stage will directly qualify for the Final. The season is spread out from last October to this March and the Final will be played on 26th March 2026. This has been an excellent season so far for Victoria who have won six out of the eight matches. They are comfortably at the top currently. Queensland and South Australia are second and third respectively and there are fighting it out. Tasmania are fourth an New South Wales are fifth both teams have to do something remarkable from here on. While Western Australia is already out of contention. There are a few more rounds remaining and the top 2 will be playing in the Final of the Sheffield Shield 2025/26 on the 26th of March.
