Chennai Super Kings all-rounder Shivam Dube once again came to the team’s rescue and gave finishing touches to the side. The five-time champions were up against the Lucknow Super Giants in the 59th clash of the IPL 2026 at the Ekana Stadium. After being asked to bat first, the guests got off to a seemingly favorable start before losing key players including skipper and opener Ruturaj Gaikwad, followed by Sanju Samson and Urvil Patel to Akash Singh.

Kartik Sharma, who came in at fourth got the side to some stability by recording his second IPL 2026 half century and putting up 71 runs off 42 balls with six boundaries and five maximums. Dewald Brevis also added 25 runs to the scoreboard on 16 deliveries. However, Shivam Dube, who has often been praised for finishing the game in the T20 format was labelled the greatest finisher for taking it top notch.

Dube and Prashant Veer hit 23 runs in the final over to push the CSK’s total to 187. After Veer ran two runs on the first delivery of Prince Yadav followed by a single, Dube went all guns blazing. On the third ball of the over, he hit Yadav for a six followed by a four, four and again a six. The five-time champions, who were struggling to find momentum at one point, were able to put up a decent total against the Rishabh Pant-led side.
