Strengths
Sri Lanka have a very good record at home and they will be playing all their group stage and Super 8 matches in Sri Lanka. So, they will have the players who are used to the conditions. This will be a big advantage.
Weaknesses
Their middle order batting lacks players who can play with high tempo. In the recent T20I series against England they have struggled in the middle overs batting and lost the series.

Pathum Nissanka has improved his T20 game to another level and in the process also landed a few gigs at different T20 leagues. He will be crucial for Sri Lanka at the top of the order and they will depend on him to give fast starts.

Matheesha Pathirana – The right arm pacer will be key for Sri Lanka. He bowls at a good pace and can bowl at all stages of the game. He has picked up 36 wickets in 24 T20Is.
T20 World Cup history Snapshot
Sri Lanka have won the T20 World Cup in 2014 beating India. That is their only trophy in this format. In 2024 WT20 they disappointed with just one win in four matches. In the upcoming WT20 they will be keen to do well as they are playing at home.
