CSK and KKR didn’t start off well in IPL 2026. But CSK at least has gained confidence now with two back-to-back wins, whereas KKR is still maintaining the losing streak. After scoring 192 runs, CSK restricted KKR to 160 and won the match by 32 runs on Tuesday. KKR bowlers first couldn’t bowl good spells except Narine and Kartik Tyagi. Batting failed with an early collapse, and then Noor Ahmad took 3 wickets. CSK seemed confident, but Suresh Raina did point out the sloppy fielding the CSK did today, questioning whether any team can win against such fielding.
He said,”Any other team would have won against the Chennai Super Kings with that level of fielding.”
Raina earlier also bashed CSK and CSK’s management for such flaws.
CSK move to eighth on table with two straight wins
CSK, although a slow start and a weak team, facing lashes from fans for not selecting young talents and missing MS Dhoni, has managed a back-to-back win in IPL 2026. They first won against DC in the previous game, where the turning point was definitely Sanju Samson’s century.
Even Suresh Raina appreciated that innings a few days back of Samson, saying, “The monkey is off Sanju Samson’s back now after this hundred. It is never easy walking into a new franchise and performing immediately, especially with the expectations Sanju has come in with. Joining the joint most successful side in the IPL comes with hard performance expectations.”
Sanju Samson too played well today against KKR. But today’s player of the match was Noor Ahmad with a brilliant spell, and Akeal Hossein also did well. Anshul Kambhoj once again nailed the death over bowling. On whole, CSK seems to have been coming back to rhythm, let’s see what more Dhoni’s comeback can bring to the side.
