India beat Namibia by 93 runs in the 18th match of the 2026 WT20 to pick up their second win of the tournament. Namibia won the toss and opted to bowl first in a very good batting surface at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi. India were without Abhishek Sharma and in his absence the top order had Ishan Kishan and Sanju Samson opening. India and especially Sanju Samson started in fine fashion as Samson smashed 22 runs of eight balls before getting dismissed. Tilak Varma joined Kishan in the middle and those two put up a terrific partnership. Ishan Kishan was the aggressor in the partnership and took Namibia bowlers to the cleaners.
Ishan Kishan completed his half century and was dismissed finally for 61 of just 24 balls. His knock included six fours and five sixes. It was an exhibition of power hitting. He was dismissed by Erasmus and suddenly both the spinners put the brakes on the scoring rate. Indian captain Suryakumar Yadav could not get going as he was dismissed for 12. Tilak Varma too got out for 25.
Hardik Pandya came in and looked in sublime touch as he scored a half century to ensure India get into a very dominant position. Shivam Dube played a few good shots. But in the last 2 overs of the innings, Namibia bowlers pulled things back brilliantly as India finished with 209/9 at the end of the first innings.
Gerhard Erasmus was the pick of the bowlers for Namibia picking up four wickets while giving away only 20 runs. Chasing a target of more than 200, Namibia openers started positively and Frylink played some terrific shots. The first wicket fell for 33 and then Namibia continued to play aggressively. They were 57/1 at the end of the powerplay. Post the first six overs, the scoring rate went down and Namibia kept losing wickets as Varun Chakravarthy struck in his first over. Namibia were bowled out for 116 and India won the match by 93 runs. Indian spinners were terrific as India sealed their second win of the 2026 WT20 and move to the top of the points table of Group A. Hardik Pandya was the player of the match.
