The IPL Final venue is likely to be shifted from Bengaluru to Ahmedabad

In the latest developments coming in just a few weeks ahead of the 2026 IPL there are reports suggesting that the IPL 2026 Final is set to be shifted from Bengaluru to Ahmedabad. Royal Challengers Bengaluru won the IPL 2025 and despite the entire schedule not out there were rumours that Bengaluru will be hosting the final. But the latest reports suggest that Ahmedabad will host the Final of the IPL 2026. The schedule for the initial few weeks have been announced and the entire schedule is expected to come out in the coming weeks.

The 2025 season of the IPL was held in Ahmedabad which was won by Royal Challengers Bengaluru. Before that the 2022 and 2023 IPL Final was also held in Ahmedabad. If the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad hosts another final in 2026 it will be the fourth Final hosted at that venue in the last five years. The IPL 2026 is set to begin on March 28 with defending champions Royal Challengers Bengaluru in action for the opening game of the tournament.

The Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad is the largest stadium in India and the 2023 Cricket World Cup Final along with the 2026 WT20 Final was held at this venue. So it will be interesting to see if IPL 2026 Final venue gets shifted to Ahmedabad. The stadium is majestic and can hold a capacity of more than a lakh.

Meanwhile Royal Challengers Bengaluru are set to play five of their home games at the Chinnaswamy Stadium. There were plenty of concerns and no clarity regarding whether Chinnaswamy will host matches after the incident that took place last year but the RCB franchise have confirmed that they will be playing their home games at the Chinnaswamy Stadium. The Final of IPL 2026 is set to be played on 31 May.
