Young Indian better Vaibhav Sooryavanshi failed to make his mark in his second international appearance and could only manage to score 13 runs. Sooryavanshi, who made his senior India debut during the second T20I against England, once again couldn’t put up an impressive show with the bat. The 15-year-old, youngest ever to play for the Men in Blue, was forced to return on just 15 runs after being dismissed by his Rajasthan Royals teammate Jofra Archer. Notably, the Shreyas Iyer-led side were up against Harry Brook and Co. for the third of the five-game series at Nottingham on Tuesday.

After inviting the hosts to bat first, the visitors received a mammoth target of 202. While they looked confident after a decent bowling display, and aimed to extend their momentum in the second innings, the hosts were in a different mood altogether. The English bowling lineup starring names like Jofra Archer, displayed no mercy and scalped one after the other to put the other side in deep trouble. Sooryavanshi, who was dismissed at 14 runs in his maiden game, once again failed to make a mark with the bat.
Jofra Archer’s Short Ball Delivery Sends Vaibhav Sooryavanshi back in hut at 13
The wonder kid, who has scripted history on multiple levels of the game, was aiming to make a comeback after a below-average performance in his first game. However, his dreams were brutally crushed by Archer, who delivered a short ball to Sooryavanshi in the third over only to be caught out by Jos Buttler behind the stumps. The 15-year-old was surely disappointed as he walked back on 13 with a combination of two maximums.
Talking about the game, the Englishmen were brutal on all levels and put their rivals in deep trouble by picking up wickets one after the other. Within nine overs, seven Indian batters, including skipper Sheryas Iyer, and opener Abhishek Sharma were back to the pavilion. By the end of the ninth over, the score had only reached 66-7 as the Men in Blue were still short of 136 runs from 66 deliveries with just three wickets in hand.
