Former Royal Challengers Bengaluru captain Virat Kohli and former Mumbai Indians skipper Rohit Sharma engaged in a funny banter during their clash in IPL 2026. On Sunday, the five-time champions MI welcomed the defending champions in a high-stake encounter at Wankhede Stadium. The game saw the visitors record an 18-run win over their counterparts to bounce back from their previous loss against Rajasthan Royals.
As Sharma and Kohli, affectionately called Ro-Ko by fans reunited, several videos and images of the Indian cricketing greats surfaced on social media. One of the most viral videos showed MI superstar Sharma getting involved in a funny banter with the RCB icon. The incident took place during Kohli’s batting, when Sharma was acting to throw the ball, while his Indian cricket teammate was faking his strides back in the crease.

Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma get injured during MI vs RCB
While it was a treat to see Ro-Ko reunite on the cricketing field, it came as a setback for their fans. Both players got injured during the clash, leaving fans worried. While Sharma suffered a hamstring issue during his batting, and was retired hurt, Kohli had an ankle issue that refrained him from taking on the field during second innings. Not only this, but former India head coach Ravi Shastri also said that he hasn’t been doing well in terms of health. This could be considered as a significant reason behind his slow and sluggish knock.
On the other hand, the Mumbai Indians suffered their third straight loss in IPL 2026. They are currently seeded eighth in the standings with just two points, with only Chennai Super Kings and Kolkata Knight Riders seeded behind them.
