On the field, especially with the bat in hand, he is quite a dynamo. One that operates with the willow knowing well how to sledgehammer a side into oblivion. He’s done that time and again and most recently, he crossed 9,000 runs in the checkered franchise league based format that is the famous Indian Premier League. And not long after doing that, something that was clearly evident the last evening, he hit none other than Kagiso Rabada for 5 boundaries and that too, inside the pacer’s single over- the very first that the Protea talent bowled. But there’s also a funny side to Virat Kohli and not just the aggressive one that springs to life and one that the fans so adoringly love, quite like his amazing batting. The same was evident in the contest against the Gujarat Titans yesterday.
The sight of Virat Kohli sharing a funny sign to Shubman Gill made for some spectacle
While with the bat in hand, there was no denying Kohli the big heroics. Why so? After all, he struck 5 boundaries in Rabada’s single over and that too, on the bounce. In so doing, the great legend of the game hammered 28 off just 13 odd deliveries. But later on in the contest, as visible in the run chase when Gujarat were out with their bats, Kohli was seen making funny gestures to GT captain Shubman Gill.

So what was it about?
Precisely in the 13th over with 12.5 deliveries complete, the great man Virat Kohli was seen signalling a gesture to Shubman Gill, the captain who has already departed scoring a timely 43 and with a blazing strike rate.
Kohli’s imitation
Virat Kohli was seen doing the action of coughing and walking like an old man, perhaps in lighter vein signalling Shubman Gill as to how the GT captain walks. Though, all of it was in lighter vein- but, of course!
Moreover, there was no animosity on Gill’s part as well. The right handed batter captain was seeming to enjoy all of it, passing smiles at Virat’s funny imitation of him.
The two have often exchanged funny glances at each other even before and this wasn’t the first time.
What this does tell us is that the two enjoy their game and as much as they enjoy playing together wearing the common Indian jersey, the two, despite featuring in excessively competitive contests such as the IPL where they feature as opponents, never miss out on having some fun. And isn’t that what’s it also about?
