During the second innings of the game between the Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Sunrisers Hyderabad, there was a heated exchange between Virat Kohli and Travis Head. Virat Kohli seemed to have asked Head to bowl a couple of overs and it wasn’t the most friendliest of exchanges. This is classic Virat Kohli stuff and wherever he goes, he will make sure that the environment will be tense in the most competitive of games. Travis Head didn’t say anything much to reply and he simply just let it go.
The Royal Challengers Bengaluru are facing a daunting task at the moment as they have a huge task ahead of themselves. Virat Kohli didn’t get much of the strike in the powerplay as Venkatesh Iyer was taking on the bowlers with authority. He did get a couple of good shots going and he was looking to be in fine touch. But he was outdone by Sakib Hussain with a slower ball wide outside off stump and Virat Kohli hit it straight to Smaran at short cover
RCB prioritise safeguarding their NRR battle over 2 points in high stakes match vs SRH
RCB were given a mammoth total of 256 to chase in the 20 overs and Rajat Patidar and his men were entitled to one of their biggest tasks in the tournament. It seemed like the coaches had given Venkatesh Iyer and Virat Kohli the freedom to go hard from the first ball. They played some expansive shots and the intent was very clear from the beginning. But after the first 3 wickets fell, RCB slightly backed out from their approach to find the boundary and they have restrained to just rotating the strike.
Rajat Patidar and Krunal Pandya have played some sensible cricket for the side as they are already at the top of the table and they need to avoid the loss by just 90 runs. It is a comfortable scenario for RCB as more than winning the match, they are prioritising a finish at the top of the table. But for the Sunrisers Hyderabad, they will be disappointed that they couldn’t bowl them out quickly as that was what mattered in the grand scheme of things. As it stands, the Royal Challengers Bengaluru will be looking to reach the 167-run mark and it seems all good for the table toppers.
