
India defeated England by 7 runs in the semi-final of the ICC T20 World Cup 2026 at Wankhede Stadium to qualify for the final. Whenever a match takes place at this iconic venue, Bollywood stars, former cricketers, and many celebrities come to support Team India. During the semi-final, much of the spotlight was on MS Dhoni. A cute moment was captured when his wife, Sakshi Dhoni, jumped in excitement, thinking it was a wicket. However, Dhoni playfully asked her to sit down, signaling that it was not out. The adorable moment quickly went viral on the internet.

In the 18th over of the match, Jasprit Bumrah bowled a yorker to the dangerous-looking Jacob Bethell. Bethell hit the ball straight back, and it bounced towards Bumrah. Seeing the moment unfold, Sakshi Dhoni thought it was a catch and jumped out of her seat in excitement.
Seeing Sakshi celebrating a bump ball wicket, MS Dhoni, who was standing behind her, playfully said: “Abe out nahi hai.” The whole moment was caught on camera and went viral on the internet. Everyone around her also laughed and told her it was not out.
India has defeated England by 7 runs in the thrilling semi-final of the T20 World Cup 2026 at Wankhede Stadium, thanks to brilliant performances from Sanju Samson, Jasprit Bumrah, Axar Patel, and Shivam Dube. 
While batting first, the team put up a massive total of 253 in 20 overs with the loss of 7 wickets. Sanju Samson smashed 89 runs off just 42 balls. Shivam Dube and Ishan Kishan impressed with 43 and 39 runs, respectively. Tilak Varma and Hardik Pandya provided some amazing finishing touches.
However, England also responded amazingly well in the batting. They lost the initial 4 wickets under 100, but each and every batter played with intent. Jacob Bethell scored an outstanding century. Will Jacks also had some support at the other end, but it was Bumrah and Hardik in the 18th and 19th overs who stopped the runs, and in the end, India won the game by 6 runs.
Now the team will face New Zealand in the final at the Narendra Modi Cricket Stadium, Ahmedabad, on Sunday, 8 March 2026.
