Delhi is yet to play its first match of IPL, and they would be competing against LSG at their home ground, the Ekana Stadium. Ahead of their first match, the DC social media handle posted a clip of David Miller hitting the ball for huge sixes during his time in the practice net. Miller was previously bought by LSG in 2025 for 7.5 Crores to play the role of a middle-order batter to stabilise the innings.
The South-African player did not have a great season as he scored only 153 runs in 11 innings at a strike rate of 127.29. He was released by the franchise ahead of the 2026 auction, where he was then bought by the Capitals at his base price of 2 crores.
Delhi Capitals secured him to add veteran finishing experience to their middle order, often alongside fellow South African Tristan Stubbs. Miller was last seen playing for South Africa in the T20 World Cup 2026, where he played the semi-final against New Zealand, scoring 6 runs in 6 balls and was dismissed by Rachin Ravindran.
Will Miller continue the World Cup in the IPL?
Miller scored a total of 174 runs in 6 innings during the 2026 ICC Men's T20 World Cup. He averaged 58.00 with a strike rate of 155.40, finishing the tournament as one of South Africa's most consistent performers
LSG captain Rishabh Pant, who didn't have a memorable IPL last year, will face his former team again this year, while KL Rahul, who led LSG, will now play for Delhi Capitals, where he was purchased in 2025.
