A recent airport interaction involving Ishan Kishan has sparked fresh discussion around personal space and fan behaviour in modern cricket. The Sunrisers player was approached by a fan while in transit, likely travelling between destinations during the ongoing Indian Premier League season.

As is often the case with popular cricketers, the fan requested a quick photograph.

The left handed cricketer, however, declined the request politely. It could have been anything behind that reason - the tiredness, the exhaustion from playing or the nervy excitement of catching yet another flight. Anything.

Despite the refusal, the fan persisted — visibly disappointed and continuing to push for a selfie.

At this point, Kishan responded firmly yet calmly, saying, “No ka matlab no hota hai, sir,” underlining his stance that his decision should be respected.

Even then, the situation didn’t fully de-escalate.

The fan reportedly stayed close and managed to click a selfie regardless. Kishan, though clearly uncomfortable, chose not to escalate the matter.

He simply moved on, walking further into the airport without creating a scene.

The incident has since resonated with many, highlighting the often-overlooked challenges athletes face off the field.

While fans play a crucial role in the sport’s popularity, moments like these serve as a reminder that cricketers, too, are entitled to personal space — especially during travel and downtime.
