Krunal Pandya has really turned the heat for the RCB camp in this addition of the Indian Premier League in 2026 and the plaudits and recognition that he’s getting from different corners is really something that he truly deserves. As a matter of fact, it could be said that the 2026 season of the IPL is perhaps the best that he is ever contested in so much so that talks are already on about him, making a possible return to the white ball format for team India in some capacity, even though his exact date of return is still largely subject to speculation.
Now one of the things that has stood apart when it comes to Krunal Pandya, being in a league of his own is the sheer intensity with which he is competing and the great variations he has added to his left arm orthodox spin bowling.
It’s a craft he knows a great deal about.
It’s a craft he seems absolutely confident about and it’s something that has already fetched the RCB camp some great returns.
With 11 wickets already in his stack and some rather useful contributions with the bat, the tall all rounder is proving just why he’s such a handy pick for his team. A team that has once again made it to the PlayOff stage- and deservingly so!
But having said, all the above, one of the things that Krunal Pandya has definitely stood out with whether it comes to contributing to his team in the form of a bowler is the ability to bowl shorter ones that are targeting the bat rib cage towards the middle and the leg stump.
He comes in sharply to bowl, with added pace, a yard or two quicker perhaps and as he approaches the popping crease, he takes a dash of a mini stop or so and then bowls it quite short.
The batter, on the other hand, doesn’t really expect to counter a bouncer, which Pandya generally delivers on such an occasion.
And it’s a weird but captivating thing to see
A spinner bowling a bouncer. Now, those who have seen the bowler, do that on one occasion to any familiar with it, actually quite a lot, but not those who come to see live for the first time ever. And in this particular occasion, it was the SRH owner Kavya Maran.
She was in for a real surprise as Pandya delivered a few short pitched ones that perhaps took her by a hint of surprise.
Standing in the stands and watching the live proceedings, she was completely stumped and couldn’t believe what Pandya was bowling.
Her reaction actually caught the attention of the shutterbugs and made quite a distinct news on social media and the game’s aftermath as one found out.
