India captain Rohit Sharma has unofficially joined the Mumbai Indians camp ahead of the Indian Premier League 2026 season.

The veteran opener was spotted practicing on the first day of the franchise’s pre-season camp, signalling that preparations for the upcoming tournament have already begun.

Certain videos circulating online show Rohit working intensely in the nets at what appears to be a largely empty cricket stadium.

With minimal activity around him, the Indian captain seemed fully focused on his training session, practicing a wide range of shots during the workout.

Rohit Prioritizes Preparation

One of the most notable aspects of Rohit’s appearance at the camp is that he reportedly skipped the prestigious Naman Awards ceremony in order to attend the practice session. The Naman Awards is one of Indian cricket’s major annual events where players and officials gather to celebrate achievements in the sport.
