The Lucknow Super Giants skipper Rishabh Pant stated at the toss that they are a top team but they have lacked clarity. It is very evident that when you look at the Lucknow Super Giants side on paper, they are an absolutely destructive batting unit with big names. Their bowling unit is one of the feared pace attacks in the tournament with some exciting young talents and the experience of Mohammed Shami. Rishabh Pant is confident in the abilities of his side but their level of execution has been their major let down this season. They are almost out of the tournament as even if they perform out of their skin in the remaining games, every other match has to go in their favour.
“The only thing is moving with more clarity. We know we are the top players, but at the same time, when sometimes, it can happen in cricket. So most of the time, the talk is about clarity, and there are a few changes in the batting order, so hopefully we can figure it out and take it for the next season,” said Rishabh Pant during the toss against the Royal Challengers Bengaluru. Their form is something that they will have to put behind their back and they will be hopeful that they can get back on top of their game. It may be too late for the playoffs but they will have to battle it out for their pride.

LSG’s batting showed promise against Mumbai Indians but inconsistency in execution persists
The Lucknow Super Giants had promising signs against the Mumbai Indians as they put on phenomenal batting prowess. Nicholas Pooran’s form would be one of their most significant areas of improvement as he smashed a couple of big sixes at the Wankhede Stadium. They were able to put up a brilliant total on board as their batting unit had taken collective responsibility. Mitchell Marsh and Aiden Markram was also able to contribute with the bat with some fine cameos in the innings that helped them to cross the 200-run mark.
However, this time out their bowling unit failed on the pitches of Mumbai as the opening pair dismantled their bowling unit. Just when they thought that they could have ended their unbeaten streak, their bowlers couldn’t handle the pressure. Rohit Sharma and Ryan Rickelton were able to score quickly off the blocks and that put the LSG bowlers out of rhythm. There seems to be a balance of inconsistency in the team as when one of their units start to fire, the other one disappoints.
It will be a challenging matchup against the Royal Challengers Bengaluru, having won just 2 games out of their previous 7 encounters. Rishabh Pant will have to step up his game as he hasn’t been at his best and he hasn’t proved the worth of his price tag yet in the tournament.
