Sunrisers Hyderabad have named English pacer David Payne as the replacement for Jack Edwards ahead of the upcoming edition of the Indian Premier League which starts in this week. David Payne is a left arm pacer from England who plays for Gloucestershire county side. He was born on 15th February 1991 in Poole and is one of the most experienced and consistent performers in English domestic cricket. Payne made his first-class debut for Gloucestershire in 2009 and has been around the circuit for a long period of time.

David Payne has also made his debut for England in the ODI format and has played only one game for them. Recently Payne was part of the Welsh Fire side in the Hundred. He has also played in the Big Bash League representing Adelaide Strikers. The left-arm pacer can bowl with the new ball and has plenty of variations which makes him a very good bowler in this format. He will be keen to bring all his experience to the Sunrisers Hyderabad unit. David Payne has played 115 First class matches picking up 328 wickets while he has also played 70 List A matches picking up 115 wickets. When it comes to the T20I format, David Payne has played 233 T20I matches and picked up 304 wickets with his best figures being 5/24. He has an economy of just over eight in T20I format.

He has played 22 matches in the BBL picking up 33 wickets and has been part of the Adelaide Strikers side. Payne has also played in the ILT20 for Desert Vipers where he has taken 27 wickets in 17 matches. When it comes to the Hundred competition, he has played for Welsh Fire and picked up 34 wickets. He will be a good addition to the upcoming season of the IPL.
