Star Manchester United forward Cristiano Ronaldo may have scored on his return to the side against Arsenal on Saturday but it wasn't enough to help the Red Devils to a win in this fixture.

The United star had a tragic week on the personal front as he and partner Georgina Rodriguez announced the tragic death of their son on Monday. They also confirmed the birth of their newborn daughter. As a result, Ronaldo had missed the match against Liverpool in which his side conceded 4 goals while not being able to score a single one.

In the match on Saturday after going down by 2 goals when Ronaldo scored, he pointed to the heavens in memory of his late son. It was an expert tap in from the Portugal star with his left foot which turned out to be the only goal for United as they lost 3-1.

Bruno Fernandes, in the second half, missed a penalty which turned out to be a decisive point in the match as a goal there would have helped United equalise and the game could have gone either way.

However, that wasn't to be. Nuno Tavares, Bukayo Saka and Granit Xhaka were the goal scorers for the Gunners in this fixture at the Emirates Stadium. The defeat for United comes as a big blow to their chances of finishing in the top four in the Premier League. Meanwhile, Arsenal will be pleased with the three points which has taken them to 60 points.
