In an unbelievable turn of events, Portuguese footballer Cristiano Ronaldo is on the verge of completing a sensational move from Juventus to Manchester City just before the end of this summer's transfer window. With his contract at Old Lady set to expire next summer, CR7 had expressed his desire to leave the club after the end of EURO 2020 and his agent Jorge Mendes was reportedly in touch with few big clubs to find the next destination for Ronaldo.

With Harry Kane announcing that he would stay at Tottenham this season, the doors opened up for Ronaldo with the Citizens looking to add another striker to their side after departure of Sergio Aguero. The negotiations between the two clubs seem to be at an advanced stage and it looks like a matter of a when, than if, for Ronaldo to return to Premier League after 12 years.

Massimiliano Allegri confirms the news of Ronaldo's departure

Cristiano Ronaldo was earning a mega salary of €31 million per year at Juventus. However, Man City had made it very clear in the initial part of the negotiations that they won't be able to match his current salary. Despite this, the Portuguese was keen to go ahead with the move as he was desperately looking for a new challenge in the twilight of his career.

Juventus manager Massimiliano Allegri confirmed the news of his departure on Friday. He said, “Cristiano Ronaldo told me yesterday that he wants to LEAVE Juventus immediately. It’s true and confirmed. This is why he wasn’t training today and he’s not available for tomorrow match vs Empoli”

Craziest transfer windows ever in history of club football

The 2021-22 summer transfer season will surely go down in history as one of the most unbelievable and craziest window ever. Two of the best players of this generation - Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo - changed their teams in the same month. Interestingly, Messi will be playing alongside Ramos in PSG while Ronaldo is set to play under Pep Guardiola in Man City. That's how dramatic things have been this season.

Apart from these two modern greats, there have been other big transfers as well to add icing on the cake. While Romelu Lukaku moved to Chelsea, Jadon Sancho joined Manchester United. Jack Grealish completed a £100 million move to Manchester City.
