Manchester United and Portuguese forward Cristiano Ronaldo is always in the news, irrespective of the topic. Be it for his game or his off-field activities, Ronaldo finds it hard to escape the media. However, of late, the player has hogged the limelight once again for his wrist watch which is said to be the world’s most expensive timepiece.
Ronaldo, who is among the highest paid footballers in the world, never shies away from keeping the costliest of products with him and the viral watch is just one of the costly belongings he possesses. However, more than the beauty of the timepiece, it is its cost that is making everyone wonder.
Have a look at the watch:
As per Daily Star, Ronaldo owns a Rolex watch which is worth INR 3,73,19,188 (£371,000). It is worth noting that the watch – Rolex GMT Master Ice – was purchased at this price by Ronaldo in 2019, when he used to play for Juventus in Italy. While Ronaldo had bought the timepiece two years back, it was the costliest the company had ever sold, and the value of the watch remains unscathed till date. The watch is made of 18-karat white gold while the bezel and band for the same comprise of nearly 30 karats of expertly cut diamonds. The stones in the watch have been perfectly placed to make sure they cover the watch properly, while the case covering has been strongly designed to remain undamaged even if it has to survive at water pressure of up to 100m.
Meanwhile, some reports are also stating that the timepiece might be a Christmas present as it was on 27th December, 2019 when the Portuguese forward was first seen wearing it. However, of late, Ronaldo has not been spotted wearing the watch after joining Manchester United and some are speculating that he might have left it back in Turin.
Ronaldo having such an expensive watch cannot be a surprise for the ones who follow the star footballer. He was recently named the fifth highest-earning athlete of all time. On the list, he had even surpassed stars like former England footballer David Beckham, famous American professional basketball player LeBron James and tennis legend Roger Federer.
