Portuguese forward Cristiano Ronaldo created history after completing his 60th career hat-trick as Manchester United defeated Norwich City FC 3-2 at Old Trafford. CR7’s three goals gave the Red Devils crucial three points for the fourth-place race as Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspurs lost their respective games.

This performance also has another importance as it avails Cristiano Ronaldo several bonuses promised in his contract.  As reported by The Sun, the 37-year-old will receive a £750,000 (roughly INR 7,47,66,744)  bonus after breaking the 20-goal barrier. He will also pick up £100,000 (roughly INR 99,68,899)  for every goal he scores after this point.

The bonuses don’t stop there as United will have to pay their top scorer this season £1million and currently Ronaldo seems certain to get that record as he is 12 goals ahead of the second-highest goal-scorer Bruno Fernandes. Furthermore, CR7 will also receive around £2.75million in total payments if he manages to score 30 goals this season.

After the win, Cristiano Ronaldo expressed his elation with the team’s victory and his performance against Norwich. He made an Instagram post which was captioned, “Very happy with this win and for getting us back on track in the Premier League.”

“Like I said before, individual achievements are only worth it when they help us reach our goals as a team, and the 60th hat-trick in my career is so much more important because it brought us the 3 points. Well done, lads, tremendous effort from everyone. We’re not giving up, we’re fighting until the end!”

“In the end, it is not my decision,” Rangnick

Manchester United manager Ralf Rangnick also praised Ronaldo for his performance and opened up about his future at the club. He said, “I don’t think we need to speak about Ronaldo’s performance today. Another hat trick, like the one he scored against Tottenham, made the difference, and at least two of them were not easy to score, the second and third.”

“In the end, it is not my decision, He has another year of his contract and it’s one for the new manager and board to take on. But he showed against Tottenham and today how he can be the difference. It’s no coincidence he has the highest scoring record of anyone in history,” he concluded.
