In a huge heartbreak for India, Australia defeated the Women in Blue by 9 runs in the T20 Cricket tournament final to claim the first-ever gold medal in women's cricket at the Commonwealth Games 2022 in Birmingham. While Australia had won the toss and were racing to a massive total, India took wickets towards the end to keep them down to 161/8.
