India's Aakarshi Kashyap put a dominating performance at her first big stage appearance in the ongoing Commonwealth Games. Aakarshi outclassed her Sri Lankan opponent in Vidara Suhasni in two straight sets.

The young Indian took the first set 21-3 and in no time surpassed Suhasni in the second set 21-9. Often regarded as the undisputed queen of domestic badminton circuit, the Chhattisgarh born player continued her form at the world stage.

With her win in two straight sets, Kashyap helped India complete 3-0 sweep over Sri Lanka in the women's team tie.

Earlier, the mixed doubles pair of Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Machimanda Ponnappa cruised past the Sri Lankan duo of Sachin Dias and Thilini Hendahewa 21-14, 21-9. Later, Lakshya Sen fought a neck-and-neck battle to go past his Sri Lankan opponent and take India's lead to 2-0.
