The Indian badminton contingent kicked-off their CWG 2022 campaign against Pakistan by winning their first two fixtures. Former world number one badminton player Kidambi Srikanth has won his men's single event against Pakistan's Murad Ali to give India 2-0 lead in the Commonwealth Games 2022.

After India's Ashwini Ponappa and Sumeeth Reddy defeated Pakistan's Muhammad Irfan and Ghazala Siddique in Mixed Doubles, the 29-year-old Srikanth has produced another comfortable win for India as he beat his Pakistani counterpart Murad Ali in straight sets 21-7, 21-12.

Srikanth started his CWG 2022 campaign with a win over Pakistan's Murad Ali to help Team India take a 2-0 lead in the Group A Mixed Team event over Pakistan and former World No. 1 PV Sindhu wrapped up the Group A badminton event against Pakistan.

Singapore Open 2022 champion PV Sindhu defeated Pakistan's Mahoor Shahzad in straight sets 21-7, 21-6 to help India clean sweep their arch-rivals Pakistan in the Group A Mixed Team badminton event.
