Indian ace badminton player PV Sindhu has outclassed Pakistan's Mahoor Shahzad in Women's singles badminton event in the Commonwealth Games 2022 at the National Exhibition Centre in Birmingham. With the win, former world number one Sindhu has extended India's lead in Mixed Team event against Pakistan 3-0.

Sindhu dominated the whole match against Mahoor and won the game by 21-7, 21-6 and wrapped up the Group A Mixed Team event against Pakistan. Sindhu was all over Mahoor in the game as she hardly made any mistake and won the game in straight sets.

PV Sindhu, who had won Singapore Open prior to the CWG 2022, has her eyes set on the gold medal in the quadrennial multi-sport event.

Earlier, India's mixed doubles team of Ashwini Ponappa and Sumeeth Reddy defeated Pakistan's Muhammad Irfan and Ghazala Siddique in the opening match of the Group A Mixed Team badminton event followed by Kidambi Srikanth's comfortable win against Murad Ali.
