While the women’s doubles duo of Treesa Jolly and Gayatri Gopichand started the day with a 21-2, 21-4 win over their Mauritius opponents Leung For Sang Jemimah and Ganesha Mungrah in the pre-quarterfinals to reach the final 8, it was followed by Kidambi Srikanth’s 21-9, 21-12 win over Sri Lanka’s Abeywickrama Dumindu.

Later in the day, India’s PV Sindhu also eased into the quarterfinals by beating her opponent from Uganda Kobugabe Husina in straight games 21-10, 21-9. Meanwhile, India’s Lakshya Sen will face Australia’s Ying Xiang Lin in the Men’s Singles round of 16 match which will be followed by Aakarshi Kashyap’s Women’s Singles round of game against Cyprus’ Eva Kattirtzi.
