Commonwealth-Games-2022 (2)

0:

Barbados and Pakistan will face off in the second match of the Commonwealth Games 2022 Women's Cricket competition. The sides will meet on the first day of the tournament itself in this Group A encounter. While the Pakistan side would take confidence from their win over Ireland on July 19 before that they had a winning run against Sri Lanka where they emerged victorious both in the T20I series (3-0) and the ODI series (2-1).

The Barbados side, by contrast, are participating in the tournament as a representative team from the West Indies, the same was confirmed by Cricket West Indies. This is because they are the reigning T20 Blaze Champions which is the reason they have been selected to participate in the tournament.

Ahead of the two side's face-off, here is a look at some statistics to predict who could be the winner of the match among other crucial moments in the match.

1. Toss Prediction

Pakistan Women lost each of the three tosses in their last T20I series. So Barbados could end up winning the toss in this match.

2. Win Possibility

Clearly, the win probability meter is tilted in favour of Pakistan team who are the more experienced side and have rich international experience compared to Barbados.

3. Team of the Day

The Team of the Day for this game has to be Pakistan. They are coming on the back of a winning form over international teams like Sri Lanka and Ireland whereas Barbados hasn't had the opportunity to compete with world-class teams regularly as a unit.

4. Powerplay Score

Pakistan's average powerplay score in the first six overs in their last T20I series was 28.66. But it would be interesting to see how the surface behaves in Edgbaston. With someone Deandra Dottin in Barbados ranks, they are also pretty capable of giving Pakistan a fight especially in the powerplay overs. Expecting both teams to score over 30 runs in the powerplay.

5. Average Score

Only 1 women's T20I has happened at the Edgbaston Cricket Ground in Birmingham before. In that game, England Women were restricted to 126 batting first. That's the average score at the venue in Women T20Is. Expect more accurate data as the tournament progresses.
