Indian women's hockey team defeated Canada 3-2 in the fourth and final Group A match of the Commonwealth Games 2022 on August 3. Team India managed a 2-1 lead at the end of the first half as Salima Tete and Navneet Kaur found the net in the first and the second quarter respectively.

Canada women's team were 0-2 down at the halfway of the second quarter but completed a 2-2 comeback in the third quarter. However, India took the lead again in the fourth quarter as Lalremsiami Hmarzote helped her team convert a penalty corner in the sixth minute.

India has improved its head-to-head stats against Canada as both teams have faced each other 17 times with India emerging victorious in 12 matches and Canada has managed only one win with four matches finished as draw.

Indian women's team kicked off their CWG 2022 campaign in style as they dominated Ghana 5-0 in the first match of Group A and then defeated Wales 3-1. However, the Women in Blue lost their third game against hosts England 3-1 on Tuesday.

With the win against Canada, Team India have booked a berth to the women's hockey semifinals of the Birmingham Games 2022.
