Indian wrestler Pooja Gehlot defeated Scotland's Christelle Lemofack Letchidjio in the bronze medal match of the Women's 50kg category (Freestyle) at the Coventry Arena Wrestling Mat B on Saturday. The Indian grappler beat the Scottish wrestler 12-2 by technical superiority.

After conceding a lead of 2 points early in the first round, Pooja came back strongly and scored ten points on the trot to go in the break with a lead of eight points. She came in the second round and earned two points in the first minute itself to win the bronze medal for India. The match lasted three minutes and forty-nine seconds.

Earlier in the day, Pooja had beaten Christelle Lemofack in her first match of the nordic round by the same margin. The only difference was that match lasted for two minutes and thirty seconds while this one went over three-and-half minutes.

The 25-year-old then advanced to the semifinal of the event as Cameroon's Rebecca Ndolo Muambo did not show up on the mat for her match against Gehlot. In the semifinal, the Indian grappler lost to her Canadian counterpart Madison Parks 6-9 and hence had to play the bronze medal match against Christelle Lemofack.
