CWG 2022 Table Tennis: Manika Batra comfortably beats Thuraia Thomas 11-1, 11-3, 11-3 in table tennis women’s team event

With this win over her Guyana opponent, India are now cruising 2-0 in the women's table tennis team event.

The ‘Golden Girl’ of India Manika Batra comfortably swept past her Guyana opponent to help India go 2-0 up in the table tennis women’s team event. She dominated the first set 11-1 and brilliantly took the lead in the second set.

Just giving away three points, Manika Batra led her way to take the second and third set 11-3, 11-3 respectively.

India is now just one win away from registering a clean sweep over Guyana in the women’s team event on Day 2.

Earlier on day 1, the Indian women’s table tennis team went past Republic of South Africa and Fiji 3-0 to enter the knockouts.

Talking about the India men’s team, they too continued their brilliant run in the tournament as they beat Barbados and Singapore in the team event with a 3-0 margin.
