Former India player and coach Ravi Shastri praised Mumbai Indians’ fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah for registering career-best figures of 5/10 in his four overs. Bumrah also bowled a triple-wicket maiden over during death overs.
After an incredible performance, Ravi Shastri referred to Bumrah as ‘Daddy’ and suggested aspiring cricketers to take notice. He tweeted “Daddy showing who is the boss. Hope the young boys are watching. Class is permanent – @Jaspritbumrah93 @mipaltan #MIvsKKR #IPL2022.”

After the match, Bumrah talked about his performance and said, “It’s always a good feeling to contribute but the important thing is for the team to win. We had our chances but could not get it done. My aim has always been to stick to my processes and like to contribute in whatever way I can.”
Boom also talked about his preparation for every game and expressed that he doesn’t pay attention to others’ opinions. He added, “I always do my evaluation by myself, I look to follow my own processes and not pay attention to what the outside world is saying. I have been in great rhythm in this tournament. You cannot control the end result, you can only follow your processes best and I accept whatever results come up after.”
Bumrah was really special: Rohit Sharma
MI Captain Rohit Sharma also praised Bumrah while commenting on the game. He said, “I would take that total on this pitch – it was a great effort from the bowling unit, the way we came back after they scored 100 runs in the first 10 overs was brilliant. Bumrah was really special,” the skipper said at the post-match presentation.
“We are playing our fourth game so we knew that the seam bowlers would get some help here. We didn’t get partnerships and you need that while chasing such a total. It’s been that kind of a season,” Sharma concluded.
