The men in Blue have some serious introspection to do after they were defeated by a stronger South African unit both during the Tests 2-1, and during the One Day International format 3-0. Netizens as usual had so much to say and many suggested the Indian management to make multiple changes. India's middle order performance was below-par in both the formats. Stand-in captain KL Rahul was also heavily criticised for his captaincy in the ODI series.

Speaking of the defeat, former Proteas pacer Dale Steyn has named an Indian player who the visitors badly missed in the rainbow nation. Dale Steyn was of the opinion that, "India definitely missed somebody like Sir Ravi Jadeja. I just think he is a wonderful cricketer. He can control the game with his left-arm spin. He is brilliant and he can also bat," Steyn told Star Sports. Further adding that, "India's got a bit of a bowling issue. They need somebody to back up Bumrah. They need someone who can bowl in a 140-145km per hour bracket. Shami is great. He had a long Test series. Siraj looks like a name for the future. I think he's got a bit of a niggle."

Team India's head coach Rahul Dravid also reflected on the team's performance and admitted to have missed the services of Ravindra Jadeja and Hardik Pandya, both of the cricketers are in rehabilitation recovering from injuries. Rohit Sharma, India's regular white ball format captain also gave the series a miss due to injury. Speaking of the West Indies tour, which is India's next assignment, Hardik Pandya has once again missed his place in the squad and Venkatesh Iyer has been given a chance. Team India will look to bounce back stronger in the upcoming series.
