With concerns over new Coronavirus mutant increasing with every passing day, each of the teams participating in the National Basketball Association (NBA) are identifying replacement players to hand short 10-day and such contracts to make up for the absence of the players who get infected or are being monitored as per the tournaments' health and safety norms. In sync with this, the Los Angeles Lakers have already signed Isaiah Thomas. Similarly, the Celtics have included Joe Johnson.

However, contrary to what many fans were hoping for and expecting, Danuel House Jr came into an association with the New York Knicks. This is because the 28-year-old was shown interest by many teams but chose Knicks over several others.

It should be noted at this point that like other teams in the competition even the New York Knicks were struggling to find players who could take the court due to the health crisis and while six of their players are unavailable for selection, they had the likes of Obi Toppin and RJ Barrett who have received clearance to feature in the match.

And with teams looking at keeping eight players at their disposal ready to play in the match, Danuel House became a good option for them. The official announcement regarding House's inclusion was made by the Knicks on Thursday. This was immediately after House was apparently waived by the Houston Rockets on December 18. So far, he has averaged 4.8 points and 2.7 rebounds in the 16 matches that he has played in the ongoing season.

In their post, the New York Knicks captioned: "Welcome, @DanuelHouseJr! #NewYorkForever," clarifying that it was a 10-day contract in the image.

However, there are also reports which suggest that other teams might have shown an interest in House. Kelly Iko, who covers the NBA for The Athletic, in one of his tweets stated: "Also fielded interest from several teams including the 76ers, Kings, and Lakers, per sources, before ultimately deciding on the Knicks."

Here is that tweet:

However, it might not be that bad a call to choose Knicks over Lakers since while the Lakers are already cutting down on spending, he might not have fit in, forcing a set association with Kent Bazemore to crumble.
