Delhi Capitals continued their winning streak from where they left off in the 1st phase of IPL 2021 while Sunrisers Hyderabad sink further in the tournament as their chances of entering playoffs have become almost impossible practically. After winning the toss, SRH put themselves to bat first but they succumbed to the Proteas pace bowling attack of Anrich Nortje and Kagiso Rabada, and only managed to post a below-par total of 134/9. Nortje breathed fire and bowled the fastest delivery of IPL 2021.

Delhi Capitals chased down the total convincingly in 17.5 overs with the help of Dhawan, Iyer and Pant's handy knocks. SRH ended up losing this game without giving a fight as the performance of their players with both bat & ball was a total letdown. Despite Kane Williamson's proactive captaincy at the end stage of game, SRH didn't have enough runs in their kitty to defend and ended up losing the game by 8 wickets.
