The Drugs Controller General of India (DCGI) submitted a fresh report to Delhi High Court on Thursday and found the Gautam Gambhir Foundation guilty of illegally stocking, procuring and distributing Fabiflu medicine to COVID-19 patients.

The DCGI earlier gave Gambhir's foundation a clean chit but changed their stance after they were reprimanded by Delhi Court. The Drugs Controller's recent report stated that action would be taken without delay against the organisation.

AAP MLA Praveen Kumar has also been found guilty of similar offences under the Drugs and Cosmetics Act, the court was informed.

The DCGI was asked to file status reports on the progress of the case within six weeks by the court. The matter has been listed for hearing on July 29.

Gautam Gambhir reacts, tweets Bhagat Singh's quote

Soon after the report came out, Delhi BJP MP Gautam Gambhir reacted on Twitter and quoted Bhagat Singh's wordings to display his stance on the case. "All that affects mankind concerns me",  the former cricketer said. Earlier, Gambhir had said that even if a thousand PILs are filed against him, he will continue to serve people.

Hoarding Case: How it unfolded

On May 7, acting on the plea by Deepak Singh, the high court ordered Delhi Police to investigate the allegations of illegally stocking medicines and oxygen cylinders.

On May 16, the police gave Gambhir and nine others a clean chit in the case. Delhi HC then ordered Delhi's drug controller to conduct an independent investigation into the allegations.

On May 31, a report submitted by DCGI also cleared Gambhir and others. However, the Delhi HC reprimanded the authority for giving clean chit without a proper enquiry and asked the Drug Controller to file a revised status report before it by Thursday.
