Mahendra Singh Dhoni has been lighting up the Indian Premier League (IPL) ever since its inception in 2008. The veteran wicketkeeper batter is done with his international duties for India but he is still serving his IPL franchise Chennai Super Kings (CSK). Although Dhoni has relieved himself from captaincy duties in the yellow jersey, he still remains an integral part of the team. And he has proved himself several times in this season.

The best exhibition of his experience came against CSK's arch-rivals Mumbai Indians where Dhoni hit 16 runs on the last four balls to win the game for his team. But with age catching up, a question about his retirement from IPL is always around the corner. While Dhoni has deferred such talks with "Definitely not" and "I haven't still left behind" in the last two IPL seasons, this may be the year the fans see their superstar in action for one last time.

However, the fans are yet not ready to let go of Dhoni. They want Thala Dhoni to keep playing for CSK. And a banner in Punjab vs Chennai game was the testimony for that. A young fan was seen holding a banner asking Dhoni to not retire. "Dear Dhoni, Please don't retire. Cricket without jersey no.7 will never be the same," the banner read.

CSK keep it tight!

Now coming to the game between Punjab and Chennai, the defending champions have kept it tight after opting to bowl first. CSK bowlers did not give away many freebies and made Punjab batters manufacture shots. Meanwhile, for Punjab, Bhanuka Rajapaksa made an impressive return to the side with his 32-ball 42. Veteran batter Shikhar Dhawan also pounced on the opportunity and scored a brilliant half-century in his 200th IPL game. The southpaw kept the scoreboard ticking with timely boundaries.
