Deepak Chahar has become an integral part of India's white-ball setup in recent times, courtesy of his impressive performances for the Men in Blue and Chennai Super Kings whenever he has got an opportunity. The 29-year-old has also grown in confidence both on and off the field and since his famous proposal to his fiance in the stadium during IPL 2021, he has become quite a fan favourite on social media.

The right-arm pacer has developed a habit of coming up with some hilarious posts for fans with an equally funny caption. Ahead of India's 1st T20I vs New Zealand in Jaipur, Deepak Chahar stunned everyone by claiming that he was looking forward to opening the innings.

After India sealed a thrilling 5-wicket victory in the match, Deepak Chahar got an opportunity to come up with another interesting post. He took a photo with India's new T20I captain - Rohit Sharma - after the game and shared it on Instagram, alongside another photo. The other one was notably a 15-year old image featuring Rohit and Deepak  - dating way back to 2006, taken at the same venue (Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur)

"Picture at the same ground after almost 15 years. Me and Rohit Bhiaya we both didn’t have beard ?‍♂️ that time ?," Deepak hilariously stated in the caption. It was indeed quite a brilliant sight for the fans to see how long the two of them have come ahead in their respective cricket careers. While Hitman is now India's captain in the shortest format, Deepak has had some tremendous success in the last few years with both the national side and franchise.

India beat New Zealand by 5 wickets

The Dravid-Rohit era for Team India in T20Is began with a resounding win in Jaipur on Wednesday. Deepak Chahar had a slightly tough outing as he conceded 42 runs in 4 overs but he managed to take the all-important wicket of Martin Guptill in the death overs, which helped India restrict New Zealand to 164/6 in 20 overs. In reply, Rohit Sharma led from the front with an aggressive 48-run knock as the Men in Blue went 1-0 up in the series.
