Delhi Capitals (DC) have become the first among the Indian Premier League (IPL) teams to jump on the Non-Fungible-Token (NFT) bandwagon. DC has joined hands with FanCraze, a cricket NFT platform, which allows the users to buy, sell and trade the favourite cricketing moment of different cricketers/ teams.

The Interim CEO of Delhi Capitals, Vinod Bisht has given the confirmation of the development and revealed that the team will be coming with its first few NFTS in June this year. He further hailed Fancraze for bringing creators, cricketers, and content altogether.

“We will be debuting the first Delhi Capitals NFTs in early June. FanCraze has shown us what is possible if one combines creators, cricketers, content, and commerce,” said Vinod Bisht, Interim CEO, Delhi Capitals.

Earlier this year, FanCraze has already partnered with International Cricket Council (ICC) to launch ‘Crictos’ to issue digital collectables covering some of the greatest moments in international cricket. They have also tied up with Cricket West Indies, players, and other prominent cricket leagues and are expected to have an NFT platform of more than 25,000 cricketers.

The marketplace of the platform, which went live in February has said to have secured a high level of engagement and already clocked millions of dollars in revenue in the beta phase. They currently have an agreement with BCCI as well for the ongoing Women’s T20 Challenge 2022.

The CEO of FanCraze has also opined on the partnerships with Capitals and thinks it will accelerate their push towards play-to-earn gaming and hopes to bring an exciting offering for the Indian cricket fans.

“FanCraze is pioneering new innovations in sports-based digital collectables with its cricket NFT marketplace and games like FanCraze Flash. The partnership with Delhi Capitals will allow us to further accelerate our foray into play-to-earn gaming and to bring-to-market new offerings for Indian cricket fans,” said Anshum Bhambri, CEO of FanCraze.

Earlier this month, Rohit Sharma launched his first NFT on the FanCraze platform to raise awareness for the conservation of the Great One-Horned Rhinoceros.
