It was complete madness from Pat Cummins to seal the game for his team KKR on Wednesday night at the MCA Stadium in Pune. The KKR all-rounder hit the joint-fastest fifty in IPL to power his team to a 5-wicket victory over Mumbai. The innings was special because it came in a pressure situation and not when everyone was hitting it all around the park.
Batters from both teams struggled to break free at the MCA Stadium pitch. But Cummins looked a little bothered about the pitch as he smoked six sixes in his innings of 56* off 15 balls. But the match had its fair share of ups and downs with a victory up for grabs for both teams. MI posted 161/4 in their 20 overs.
In reply to that, KKR were reduced to 101/5 in 13.1 overs. Venkatesh Iyer was holding one intact and looking for someone to give him a hand in the middle. He looked at Billings, Shreyas Iyer, and Andre Russell but none could sustain the pressure. Finally came Cummins, who not only gave a hand but won the match for his team.
