Veteran Mumbai pacer Dhawal Kulkarni is all set to join the battered Mumbai Indians camp for the remaining of the ongoing 15th edition of the Indian Premier League. The 33-year-old pacer has been part of the commentary panel but will take the field now as five-time champions have bagged his services to strengthen their bowling unit, which has been a major concern for the team.

Rohit Sharma & Co. are yet to win a game in the tournament as they have faced six successive defeats in the league and are placed at the bottom of the points table. The experienced pacer has picked 86 wickets in 92 IPL games while representing Mumbai, Rajasthan Royals and now-defunct Gujarat Titans.

Kulkarni bagged INR 75 Lakh from MI in the 2020 auction event, and he served the team in 2021 as well, although he played just one game in this period. As per the latest reports, Rohit Sharma is keen on bringing Kulkarni to the squad to strengthen their pace attack. "Kulkarni hails from Mumbai, and he knows how to bowl in Mumbai and Pune."

A day earlier on Wednesday, Kulkarni posted a tweet as he wrote, "Where am I going ???!!" Kulkarni's post gave no hint to where he is going. However, recent reports have made it clear that Kulkarni is coming to the MI camp. Mumbai bowlers seem to be struggling and have been the significant factor behind team's poor performance in the edition.

The Rohit Sharma-led franchise lost their last fixture against Lucknow Super Giants by 18 runs after failing to chase down 199.

Speaking of the MI bowling unit, except for Jasprit Bumrah, none of the other bowlers has impressed with their performances as Tymal Mills, Jayadev Unadkat, Basil Thampi, and Murugan Ashwin have been leaking too many runs.

Rohit Sharma & Co. will look to undo their past performances when they take on arch-rivals Chennai Super Kings in their next clash on April 21.
