MS Dhoni and Virat Kohli are two names which are surely among the biggest ones in Indian cricket. Both players have played together a lot for India and have also played against each other as skippers of their respective franchises. The duo also faced each other on September 25 in the 2nd phase of IPL 2021. While MS Dhoni is in charge of Chennai Super Kings, Virat Kohli has been leading the Royal Challengers Bangalore from a long time now.

But as Virat Kohli has decided to step down from RCB captaincy after the IPL 2021 and with the growing age of Dhoni, there was a possibility that the duo was facing each other as captains of their franchises for the final time (if both did not face one other again in the play-offs this season). But former Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) all-rounder and the man who has played under MS Dhoni at Rising Pune Supergiants (RPS), Rajat Bhatia has stated that MS Dhoni can play for CSK till 2028 and we might see Captain Dhoni and Captain Kohli facing off one other yet again next year.

This may not be the final time we see Dhoni Vs Kohli as captains: Rajat Bhatia

In an interview on SportsTiger Midwicket live, Rajat Bhatia has stated that even though Virat will leave captaincy at the end of this season but this might not be the final time the fans are seeing Captain Dhoni Vs Captain Kohli happening. “We don’t know whether this is one last time or not...if RCB wins the IPL 2021 and India win 2021 T20 World Cup, then we might see Dhoni (and Kohli) again next year (as captains),” Bhatia said. The all-rounder added, “We can see the same combination, or say Captain Kohli Vs Captain Dhoni or Captain cool playing.”

CSK will want Dhoni till 2028: Rajat Bhatia

In the same interview, Rajat Bhatia has stated that CSK will want Dhoni to be with them till 2028 and the captain cool can be with them in the form of a player or a mentor till that time. “We can see Dhoni again (next year). If you will ask CSK team management that will MS Dhoni play? They will say he (Dhoni) will play till 2028. If he will not play (till 2028) then he will be mentoring the team,” Bhatia said. He further opined that it would be big thing for any team to have Dhoni as mentor.
