Shoaib Akhtar has faced a lot of backlash for his comments on Virat Kohli's marriage affecting his game. Akhtar in an interview had said that Virat Kohli should not have married. The former Pakistani cricketer's comments did not go well with both Virat Kohli and his wife Anushka Sharma's fans as they called Shoaib Akhtar an 'attention seeker'. The fans even schooled Akhtar for his 'stupid logic' and gave him the example of Kapil Dev and MS Dhoni who won World Cups after marriage.

In an interview to ANI, Shoaib Akhtar had said, "I do not know what is right, what is wrong. It has all happened, now how to go ahead from here matters. Kohli has the bat, he does not want to be dropped from the team. Performance pressure will be there on him, I wanted him to score 120 tons and not become the captain and I did not want him to get married."

"If I was in India and was a fast-bowler, I would not have married. I would have focused on my cricket, this is my thinking. It was Kohli's personal decision. If you asked me, I would have focused on my cricket," he had added. Akhtar's this logic of not marrying to focus on cricket did not sit well with the fans as they found it, misogynist, as well as stupid.

Fans react after Shoaib's statement

After Shoaib's comments, fans started bashing out at the Pakistan cricketer in anger. A netizen wrote, "Shameful. Trying to seek attention by commenting on the personal life of Virat Kohli. He should speak about the sorry state of citizens and cricket in Pakistan."

"Lol... They are in a relationship since 2013 and got married in 2017. Check his stats for years 2017, 2018, 2019. The highest peak in his career came in the year 2018," a user wrote.

"Mein bata ta hu (Let me tell you). After marriage Kapil won WC 83. After marriage Dhoni won WC 11," another user commented.

While some users seemed furious at Akhtar's comments, a user took a sarcastic dig at him saying the future cricketers should not down this valuable piece of advice. According to Shoaib Akhtar law of cricket, "Marriage will ruin the career of a player." Future cricketers, pls note this point. It will be useful," the user wrote.
