It was a great day in business for RCB as they beat Delhi Capitals by 16 runs in their sixth game of the tournament. After failing to defend 205 in their first game, RCB were under pressure to defend 189 at the Wankhede Stadium. The way David Warner was hitting the RCB bowlers, it seemed he will walk away with the game.
However, a game-changing over by Wanindu Hasaranga and Faf du Plessis' decision to challenge the on-field umpire's call reaped rewards for RCB as they got rid of Warner. But there was one more hurdle to cross for them as Rishabh Pant was looking in the mood to seal the game for his team.
This too was avoided by a fielding masterclass by Virat Kohli. The former RCB captain showed some superhuman skills to pluck Pant's catch out of thin air off Mohammed Siraj's bowling. Earlier, after being put into bat first, RCB put on 189 on the board. Despite two of their star batters, Faf du Plessis and Virat Kohli not scoring runs, RCB put up a fighting total.
Glenn Maxwell and Dinesh Karthik played fabulous counter-attacking knocks as both scored half-centuries. While Maxwell ended the match with a 34-ball 55, Karthik scored 34-ball 66*. Shahbaz Ahmad also chipped in with a crucial 32* off 21 balls.
As the game was on at Wankhede, Twitter users were quick to react to every crucial happening in the game. They shared hilarious reactions as the game progressed.
