Virat Kohli is having a really tough time in his cricketing career, especially batting. The Indian stalwart has not scored a lot of runs in the past few games. He has also lost captaincy in white-ball cricket. His world rankings in all three formats have also been hit due to his non-performance. Kohli has lost his wicket chasing outside off-stump deliveries when it comes to red-ball cricket and this has led to talks around his temperament as well as technique.
In a viral video doing rounds on the internet, Pakistan cricketer Mohammad Asif is also seen talking about Virat Kohli's batting technique. Asif called Kohli a 'bottom-handed' player and also said that he has been able to score runs just because of his good fitness. He also compared him with Pakistan captain Babar Azam and called the latter a more technically sound batsman. The Pakistan pacer also dismissed the talks around Kohli being a better batsman than Sachin.
"As I have already said, Kohli is a bottom-hand player. He has been scoring runs just because of his good fitness. As soon as there is a decline is his fitness, he won't be able to make a comeback," said Mohammad Asif. "While Babar Azam is an upper-hand batsman like Sachin. He is fluent like Sachin in the way he plays his shots. People also say that Kohli is a better batsman than Sachin but he is nowhere near to Sachin, These are my words. He can never be like Sachin as the latter was an upper-hand player. A very few people understand these technical details," added Asif.

Kohli still hunting his 71st century
No one can say up to what extent this statement from Mohammad Asif is correct but Virat Kohli fans will desperately want him to score some big runs. The Indian Test captain has gone without a century in over 50 international innings. This is the leanest patch Kohli is seeing in his career and the 33-year-old will be desperate to put an end to it. Virat will have a chance once again when he takes the field against South Africa on 11 January.
