South Africa all-rounder Dwaine Pretorius has tested positive for COVID-19 ahead of the T20I series against West Indies, which is scheduled to start on June 26 at St George’s, Grenada. Cricket South Africa (CSA) confirmed that the entire travelling squad returned negative results except for Dwaine Pretorius. Pretorius is asymptomatic and is following protocols on recovery and eventual return to play.

All-rounder Wiaan Mulder, who was part of the Test squad, has been retained for the 5-match T20I series as a replacement for Dwaine Pretorius. Mulder played one T20I for South Africa, in April 2021 at home. 

Meanwhile, the Test squad have returned to South Africa after a successful series against West Indies. Assistant coach Enoch Nkwe has also returned and joined the squad and will resume his role after taking family responsibility leave.
