Ahead of the 1st ODI between Sri Lanka and India on Sunday, the fans were wondering if they will finally get to see Kuldeep Yadav and Yuzvendra Chahal playing together once again. Considering the hot weather conditions in Colombo and the wicket at R. Premadasa Stadium expected to assist the spinners, there was no doubt that Men in Blue will opt to play two spinners in the season opener.

In the pre-match conference, Indian captain Shikhar Dhawan had talked about the duo of Yuzvendra Chahal and Kuldeep Yadav. He said, "They both share great chemistry, Kuldeep and Chahal. They have won so many matches and so many series for us and they are bowling really well." Dhawan had also hailed Rahul Chahar as a great spinner, which made the selection call very interesting.

KulCha combo returns after 2 years

Kuldeep Yadav and Yuzvendra Chahal hadn't featured in the same playing XI for India on ODIs since the match against England in World Cup 2019 at Edgbaston. However, the long wait finally ended on Sunday when Dhawan revealed at the toss that both of them will be featuring in the 1st ODI.

However, there will be one key difference from the last time when the duo played together. The charismatic presence of MS Dhoni behind the stumps would be missing and it will be very exciting to see how Kuldeep and Chahal operates without the advise of the former Indian captain.

Fans excited to see KulCha re-united

The fans were expectedly excited as soon as the return of KulCha became official. While some claimed that the earth is healing, the others compared the duo to that of Karan and Arjun from a Bollywood classic. Most of the netizens were just delighted to see them back together and wished them luck for Sunday's match.

Here are the tweets:

Good start for KulCha in Colombo

The strategy to play both Kuldeep Yadav and Yuzvendra Chahal started off pretty for India on Sunday. While Chahal got the crucial breakthrough off his first delivery of the match, Kuldeep also bowled some good lines and looked quite effective in his opening over.
